| + | # Comms & Services Setup |
| + | |
| + | Voice communication and out-of-game pings are mandatory for all members of The Abyssal Requiem. If you are not on comms, you are not in the fleet. |
| + | |
| + | Before starting this guide, ensure you have completed the [[Auth Registration Guide]]. You cannot access our comms without an active Auth account. |

| + | ## 🎧 Discord Setup (Text & Pings) |
| + | Discord is our primary hub for text communication, casual chat, and fleet pings. |
| + | |
| + | 1. Log into the **[https://auth.abyssalrequiem.net/services/]**. |
| + | 2. Navigate to the **Services** tab. |
| + | 3. Find **Discord** in the list and click the **Checkmark / Link** icon. |
| + | 4. You will be redirected to Discord to authorize the connection. |
| + | 5. Once connected, Auth will automatically invite you to the ARQM server and assign your roles based on your in-game titles. |
| + | |
| + | > **Note:** Do not manually edit your Discord nickname. Auth will automatically sync your nickname to match your EVE Main Character. |
| + | |

| + | ## Mumble Setup (Voice Comms) |
| + | Mumble is our primary voice platform for fleets because of its low latency, high audio quality, and ability to handle hundreds of users in a single channel without lagging. |
| + | |
| + | ### Step 1: Download & Install |
| + | Download the latest version of Mumble for your operating system: **[Download Mumble Here](https://www.mumble.info/downloads/)** |
| + | |
| + | ### Step 2: Get Your Credentials |
| + | Mumble does not use your regular Auth password or your EVE SSO. It uses a unique, automatically generated credential set. |
| + | |
| + | 1. Log into the Auth **Services** page. |
| + | 2. Find the **Mumble** row and click the button to activate the service. |
| + | 3. The page will display your **Username** (usually your EVE Main's name) and a **Password**. |
| + | 4. *Copy this password*—you will need it in a moment. |
| + | |
| + | ### Step 3: Connect to the Server |
| + | 1. Open Mumble and click the **Globe Icon** (or Server -> Connect). |
| + | 2. Click **Add New...** at the bottom. |
| + | 3. Enter the server details: |
| + | * **Address:** `[Fond on auth pages]` |
| + | * **Port:** `[Fond on auth pages]` |
| + | * **Username:** Paste the exact username from your Auth page. |
| + | 4. Click **OK**, then double-click the server to connect. |
| + | 5. When prompted, paste the **Password** you copied from the Auth page. Accept any certificate warnings. |
| + | |
| + | --- |
| + | |
| + | ## ⚙️ Mandatory Mumble Configuration |
| + | |
| + | You must configure the following settings before joining a fleet channel. Go to **Configure -> Settings** in Mumble (tick the "Advanced" box in the bottom left corner if it isn't already). |
| + | |
| + | ### 1. Enable Push-To-Talk (Mandatory) |
| + | Hot-mics (voice activation) are strictly prohibited during fleets. |
| + | * Go to **Audio Input**. |
| + | * Change the **Transmit** dropdown to **Push To Talk**. |
| + | * Go to the **Shortcuts** tab. |
| + | * Click **Add**, select *Push-to-Talk* under Function, and assign a key (Mouse buttons or the Tilde `~` key are highly recommended). |
| + | |
| + | ### 2. Disable Text-To-Speech |
| + | By default, Mumble reads aloud every time someone joins or leaves a channel. In a 200-man fleet, this will drive you insane. |
| + | * Go to **Messages**. |
| + | * Under the *Text-To-Speech* column, uncheck everything. |
| + | * *Alternatively, go to Audio Output and uncheck "Enable Text-To-Speech".* |
| + | |
| + | ### 3. Disable the Overlay (Optional but Recommended) |
| + | The Mumble overlay often conflicts with EVE Online, causing the game client to crash or freeze. |
| + | * Go to **Overlay**. |
| + | * Uncheck **Enable Overlay**. |
| + | |

| + | |
| + | ## Coalition Comms (Winter Co / Phoenix) |
| + | For joint-deployment fleets, you will need to access coalition comms. The setup process is identical, but you will generate your credentials from the Coalition Auth pages rather than the ARQM page. |
| + | |
| + | * **Winter Co Mumble Guide:** [[Winter Co Standing Orders]] |
| + | * **Phoenix Coalition Mumble Guide:** [[Phoenix Coalition Deployments]] |
| + | |
| + | --- |
| + | ### Troubleshooting |
| + | * **"Wrong Password / Certificate Error"**: Mumble saves your login token locally. If your Auth password resets, or if you reinstall Windows, Mumble might try to use an old token. In Mumble, go to *Configure -> Certificate Wizard -> Create a new certificate* and try reconnecting. |
| + | * **I can hear people, but they can't hear me!** Check the bottom left corner of Mumble. If you have a microphone with a red slash through it, you muted yourself. If you don't see that, go to *Audio Input* and make sure the correct microphone device is selected from the dropdown menu. |
