The history of The Abyssal Requiem [ARQM] is defined by growth, adaptation, and a commitment to building a corporation capable of surviving and succeeding in null-security space.

ARQM was founded as more than a temporary EVE Online organization. It was created to become a lasting community where pilots could develop their skills, participate in organized operations, and contribute to the corporation’s long-term success.

Corporation Overview

Before The Abyssal Requiem

The history of The Abyssal Requiem began before the corporation itself was created.

Emerald Volpe previously founded and led Emerald Enclave [EMENC], an earlier corporation that helped establish the leadership principles that would later shape ARQM.

Emerald Enclave eventually merged with Vesuvian Fleet [VESUV], where Emerald Volpe served in recruitment and fleet-command positions. During this period, Emerald gained experience with:

• Corporation recruitment and member development.
• Null-security operations.
• Alliance fleet participation.
• Incursion fleet command.
• Corporation administration.
• Ship Replacement Programs.
• Fleet doctrine development.
• Alliance and coalition leadership.
• Organized member training.

Emerald Volpe also served as an Incursion Fleet Commander and previously held command responsibilities within established incursion communities. This experience helped shape ARQM’s emphasis on organized fleets, clear command structures, training, and financial support for participating pilots.

The lessons learned during Emerald Enclave, Vesuvian Fleet, and Apocalypse Now became the foundation upon which The Abyssal Requiem was built.

Founding of The Abyssal Requiem

The Abyssal Requiem [ARQM] was founded on December 16, 2025, by Emerald Volpe.

The corporation was created to provide pilots with a structured organization built around cooperation, independence, training, and long-term development.

From its beginning, ARQM was intended to operate as a corporation where members could do more than simply occupy space. Members would be encouraged to participate in fleets, contribute to corporation projects, help newer pilots, and take ownership of the corporation’s future.

The corporation adopted the motto:

All things end. We decide when.

The motto represents ARQM’s refusal to allow setbacks, defeats, or outside circumstances to determine the corporation’s fate. The corporation would adapt, rebuild, and decide its own direction.

The Early Corporation

During its early development, ARQM focused on building the systems required to support an active EVE Online corporation.

These systems included:

• A formal corporation leadership structure.
• A corporation Discord server.
• A dedicated corporation website.
• An EVE authentication system.
• Recruitment and onboarding procedures.
• Fleet participation requirements.
• Corporation wallet management.
• A Ship Replacement Program.
• A corporation buyback program.
• Combat doctrines and skill plans.
• Industrial and logistical programs.
• Member training resources.
• Monthly participation rewards.

ARQM also established supporting corporations for different member and organizational needs.

Supporting Corporations

The Phantom’s Symphony

The Phantom’s Symphony [PHSYM] was established as an alternate corporation connected to ARQM’s broader organizational structure.

It has been used for alternate characters, specialized administrative needs, and corporation support functions.

The Silent Overture

The Silent Overture [OVTR] was established as a high-security-space and entry-level corporation.

Its purpose was to provide developing pilots with a place to learn, build experience, and prepare for eventual movement into the main ARQM corporation.

Members could transition into ARQM after demonstrating:

• Reliable activity.
• Basic fitting knowledge.
• Fleet discipline.
• Independence.
• Understanding of corporation expectations.
• Alignment with ARQM’s culture.

The Apocalypse Now Era

Following its founding, The Abyssal Requiem became part of Apocalypse Now [APOC] and operated within the Phoenix Coalition.

This period was important to ARQM’s early growth. It gave the corporation access to established null-security infrastructure, organized fleets, experienced leadership, and a wider community of pilots.

ARQM members participated in:

• Alliance strategic operations.
• Home-defense fleets.
• Corporation fleets.
• Incursion operations.
• Mining and industrial activities.
• Coalition deployments.
• Training fleets.
• Corporation projects.
• Recruitment initiatives.

The corporation benefited from the support and opportunities provided by Apocalypse Now. Several alliance leaders and experienced pilots assisted ARQM members as they adapted to life in null-security space.

During this period, ARQM developed from a small corporation into a more organized and capable group.

Major Achievements

The Abyssal Requiem’s major early achievements include:

• Establishing a formal corporation leadership structure.
• Building a dedicated corporation website.
• Creating an independent authentication system.
• Establishing supporting corporations for alternate and developing pilots.
• Reaching a top-three or higher activity position within its alliance during reporting periods.
• Developing monthly participation rewards.
• Creating industrial and infrastructure plans.
• Building a more independent and organized corporation community.

These achievements were made possible by the participation of ARQM’s members and the dedication of its early leadership team.

Transition from Apocalypse Now

In July 2026, The Abyssal Requiem announced that it would leave Apocalypse Now.

The decision marked the end of an important chapter in the corporation’s history.

ARQM’s leadership expressed appreciation to the members and leaders of Apocalypse Now who helped the corporation grow. The support provided during ARQM’s early development allowed the corporation to gain experience, establish its programs, and prepare for greater independence.

The departure was not intended to erase the relationships developed during the corporation’s time in Apocalypse Now. Many former alliance members remained friends or allies through wider coalition relationships.

The move represented the beginning of a new stage in ARQM’s development.

The SLYCE and Winter Coalition Era

Following its departure from Apocalypse Now, The Abyssal Requiem began transitioning into SLYCE, a member alliance of Winter Coalition.

The corporation prepared to relocate its primary staging and corporation assets to Deklein.

The transition required:

• Members to authenticate through SLYCE systems.
• Corporation characters to complete alliance registration.
• Ships and assets to be moved from former staging systems.
• Corporation doctrines to be repositioned.
• Members to prepare for temporary standings changes.
• Leadership to coordinate the alliance transfer.
• Corporation services to be updated for the new organization.

The move into SLYCE provided ARQM with a new home while allowing the corporation to remain connected to many pilots and organizations within Winter Coalition.

This transition began the next major chapter of ARQM’s history.

The history of The Abyssal Requiem is still being written.

The corporation has experienced growth, difficult decisions, alliance changes, financial challenges, and new opportunities. Each stage has contributed to ARQM’s identity and helped prepare the corporation for its next chapter.

ARQM’s success is not measured only by wallet balances, fleet statistics, structures, or membership numbers. It is also measured by the members who learned new skills, joined fleets for the first time, helped one another, accepted leadership responsibilities, and contributed to the corporation’s development.

The corporation’s future will continue to be shaped by the same principle expressed in its motto:
